Located at Holy Trinity Church in Glendale Springs and at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church
in West Jefferson. Open all year, 24 hours a day. Guide service provided by appointment.
Mission House open 6-9. No admission charge but donations are welcome. These are world
famous frescoes done by Ben Long - one place you don’t want to miss.
DANIEL BOONE NATIVE GARDENS 264-2819. Located adjacent
to Horn in the West off Blowing Rock Road in Boone. Open daily, weather permitting from
May thru mid-October from 10-6; until 8 during the Horn in the West Season. Modest
admission.
HORN IN THE WEST 264-2120. Performed in the Daniel
Boone Amphitheater in Boone. Open from June 21 and runs thru August 17. Performances
nightly at 8:30 PM except Monday. Adults $12, Children 12 & under $6.
GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN 733-2013. On US 221 near
Linville…Open April 1 thru November 15 from 8 AM to dusk. Open weekends weather
permitting from 9 - 4. Adults $10, Children 4-12, $5, under 4 free. You can walk the
mile-high swinging bridge if you dare!
LINVILLE CAVERNS 828/756-4171. On US 221 between
Linville and Marion. Open 9 - 5, June 1st thru Labor Day; 9-4 in May, September
and October. Adults $5, Children 5-11, $3, Senior Citizens $4. One of Nature’s many
wonders.
MOSES H. CONE ESTATE & CRAFT CENTER 295-7938. On
the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 294 at the Cone Memorial Park. Open March 21 to January
4, 9-4 PM EST. No Admission charge. Spectacular views plus exquisite crafts.
MYSTERY HILL 264-2792 On US 321 between Boone and
Blowing Rock. Open year round. Ticket prices include Appalachian Heritage Museum and
Mystery Hill. Adults $5, Children 5-12 $3.50, Senior Citizens $4.50, Children under 5
free. From May to Labor Day, open 8 - 8 daily, Sun 1-5; After Labor Day, hours are 9 - 5.
TWEETSIE RAILROAD 264-9061. On US 321 between Boone and
Blowing Rock. Opens May 17 and operates daily thru Labor Day; Labor Day - October 31st,
open only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Park hours are from 9 - 6. Admission: Adults:
$16, Children 3 - 12: $13, under 3: free, Senior Citizens over 60: $13.
FUN ‘N’ WHEELS 262-3780 On Highway 105 toward
Boone. Opens as weather permits. For a ride it is $4 or special of three rides for $10;
two-seater cars are $5 per ride; Mini-cars for the kids are $3; Ferris Wheel $2 and the
Gyro is $3. For an afternoon or evening of fun, you really need to visit Fun ‘N’
